Mint Mobile/CNET

If you’re constantly running out of data, you’re going to love this. Mint Mobile just announced it is increasing the data options per plan without raising the price. Each plan gets anywhere from one to three extra GB per month, depending on the plan you’re on. And as previously mentioned, you won’t see any price increase. That’s a hard deal to beat.

Mint Mobile is increasing the data buckets across its nonunlimited plans. The tiered plans will update as follows:

  • 5GB to 6GB
  • 15GB to 17GB
  • 20GB to 23GB

This helps give customers a bit more breathing room each month. While the listed plan prices technically run $15, $20 and $25 per month, Mint typically sells them at promotional rates, depending on whether you prepay for three, six or 12 months, with current deals bringing those down to roughly $10, $15 and $20. Mint Mobile also frequently discounts its unlimited plan to boost your savings even more.

Why this deal matters

Usually with phone plans, prices and fees tend to creep up over time, but Mint Mobile is doing the opposite by adding more data without increasing the price. Even small boosts across its tiered plans can make a real difference for everyday use, like for streaming, navigation and hotspots. It’s a straightforward value upgrade that keeps its prepaid plans competitive without any extra steps for customers. Plus, Mint Mobile is owned by T-Mobile, so you know service is exceptional.
