Save $145: Amazon’s Prime Day sale is offering one of the biggest Kindle discounts we’ve seen, and the timing couldn’t be better. The Kindle Colorsoft Essentials Bundle has dropped from $347 to just $202, saving you $145 on the original color Kindle.

The deal comes just after Amazon announced a new Kindle Colorsoft, which is set to launch later this month, making this an excellent opportunity to grab the previous-generation model at a substantial discount. If you don’t need the latest hardware, this Prime Day bundle offers excellent value, especially since it includes the e-reader, a fabric cover and a power adapter.

The Kindle Colorsoft brings comics, graphic novels, cookbooks and book covers to life with a color e-ink display that’s optimized specifically for reading in color. The Colorsoft lets you highlight passages in yellow, orange, blue and pink for easier note-taking and organization. Plus, a single USB-C charge lasts up to eight weeks, so you can spend more time reading and less time charging. The display is also adjustable, allowing you to shift from a bright white background to a warmer amber tone for comfortable nighttime reading.

Like other premium Kindles, it’s waterproof, so you can read by the pool, at the beach or in the bath without worrying about splashes. This bundle also includes a matching fabric cover that automatically wakes and sleeps the Kindle when opened or closed, plus a 9-watt power adapter so you have everything you need right out of the box. With access to more than 15 million Kindle Store titles and support for Kindle Unlimited, it’s an easy recommendation for avid readers looking to save before the new Colorsoft officially arrives.
