Every holiday season new consoles will be bought as gifts, and they all need awesome games to play on them. While the latest releases may be full price, a lot of other games are heavily discounted at this time of year.
We’ve pulled together a list of the best savings on video games we’ve seen across all the major retailers for each of the big platforms. This list will be ever-expanding too, so keep looking back over the coming weeks.
Note: Many of these discounted games are for the physical versions and game cartridges, but not every current-gen console has a disk drive. Plan accordingly!

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is the perfect game for powering down after a day of work. The low-stress, high-fun game style lets your mind rest as you move your cute little character around their personal island, building houses for guests and restyling the landscape with flowers. Or in my case, a wrestling ring.
If you own a Switch, then ACNH is a must-have.

Made by Bandai-Namco and featuring the writing talent of Game Thrones’ George R.R. Martin, Elden Ring is a story-driven powerhouse of a modern game. The game is graphically stunning, and the story beats and fighting mechanics weave together wonderfully to create one of the best-realized games of this decade.

This Spider-Man game for PlayStation 4 is arguably the best superhero game in modern times.
