Apple’s TV streamer costs more than streaming sticks and boxes from the likes of Roku, Amazon and Google — even with the upgraded 2022 Apple TV 4K and a lower starting price. But if you’re all in on the Apple ecosystem, it could be worth it for you. With the convenient tie-ins with your Apple ID, iTunes purchase history and Apple services such as Apple TV Plus and Apple Fitness Plus, Apple fans are likely to appreciate the Apple TV’s user experience. 

Given the comparatively high price, hunting down a great Apple TV deal is a good idea. We’ve rounded up the best Apple TV deals currently available below and organized them by product line so you can grab the right device for you.

Best Apple TV 4K deals

If you have a 4K TV at home and want to take advantage of it, the Apple TV 4K is for you — though this current moment is an unusual time to buy one. 

The 2022 model that just went on sale earlier this month has an upgraded, modern A15 Bionic chip powering it, HDR10 Plus support, a USB-C Siri Remote as well as double the storage as standard. It also starts at $129, down from the previous $179 starting price, though you’ll need to spring for the $149 128GB model if you want Ethernet support — something that was previously included across the board. 

Even a couple of weeks after its release, Amazon and B&H have already started doing some small discounts on the new Apple TV 4K to bring that price down a little bit more. 

Given the pricing proximity even with the below deals, this new 2022 Apple TV 4K has been our recommendation among Apple’s streaming boxes as its significant processor jump should provide more longevity than even last year’s model. 

If you don’t think you’ll benefit from those headline features and are still looking to save a few bucks, the 2021 model works really well and is still a solid buy. It comes in two options, one with 32GB of storage and the other with 64GB, and runs Apple’s A12 Bionic chip (similar to what was in 2018’s iPhone XS and XR). It also includes a Siri Remote that charges through Lightning and the box itself has Ethernet support.

The 64GB Apple TV 4K offers extra storage if you’ll be downloading a lot of content or installing various games and apps. The more capacious model has a similarly massive discount at Amazon, Walmart and Best Buy compared to its price last year. 

Again, at this price you’re probably better off getting the 2022 version, which has the same amount of storage. But if you want to save a little, consider this option.

Best Apple TV HD deals

With the unveiling of the 2022 Apple TV 4K, Apple killed off the Apple TV HD. The move makes sense given the new lower starting price for the 4K model and the fact that the Apple TV HD was essentially a 2015 piece of hardware with a 2021 remote. The A8 chip powering it was getting a little long in the tooth, plus UHD TVs are way more accessible these days, with a plethora of 4K TV deals available at any one point. 

Unless the Apple TV HD is on a deep discount, you should avoid it.

Walmart has brought the Apple TV HD back down to $59, which is a new record-low price for the fifth-gen device that has otherwise been found for between $69 and $99. 

When the other Apple TVs were double the price of its current $59 price tag, the HD wasn’t a terrible option if you wanted to try out Apple’s TV platform. But given the other discounts on much more modern 4K models, you should not buy the Apple TV HD, especially as Best Buy sells the much faster and more modern 2021 Apple TV 4K for $100.

Best Apple TV Remote deals

In 2021, Apple released a new Siri remote that ditched the previous generation’s design and trackpad and brought better buttons, making it much easier to use. One of the great things is that you don’t need to upgrade your Apple TV in order to use the new remote: You can seamlessly connect it to your existing Apple TV.

Apple has given the remote a minor upgrade with its 2022 Apple TV revision, dropping the Lightning charging port in favor of one with USB-C. Functionally, however, both last year’s remote and the 2022 USB-C versions are identical and work with the same Apple TV devices.

If you want to keep your existing Apple TV but despise the remote, you can ditch the somewhat annoying trackpad and upgrade to make the experience better overall. Right now you can save a few bucks on it at Amazon, though this model is last year’s version that has a Lightning charging port and not USB-C.

Refurbished Apple TV deals

The advantage to buying a refurb directly from Apple is that you can save some cash and you’ll still get a full warranty should any issues arise. Given that there are plenty of brand new Apple TV deals around, it’s not really a good option if you want a recent model at a discount today. 

Apple supply of refurbished Apple TVs varies, and the company recently had an HD model for $79 and last year’s 32GB 4K model for $99. Both of those refurbished deals weren’t great as a new HD is cheaper at Walmart and a new 2021 Apple TV 4K can be found for the same price.
