If you have any reason to keep track of time (not to mention myriad other functions), then Apple likely has a watch for you. Its wealth of wearables runs the gamut from the affordable Apple Watch SE to the high-end Apple Watch Ultra geared toward athletes and adventurers with deep pockets. In the middle sits the latest Apple Watch Series 8, which is the best pick for most buyers.
The Series 8 starts at $399 in the US while the second-gen Watch SE starts at $249, which is $30 less than the original 2020 model. The rugged Watch Ultra checks in at $799. The size and shape of the Series 8 and new Watch SE models remains largely the same as the models they replace, but they boast a couple of new health and safety features under the hood, with a temperature sensor and car-crash detection.
You can find deep discounts on both Series 8 and Watch SE models right now at Amazon and Best Buy. You can save up to $70 on the Series 8 and $30 on the already affordable Watch SE. The Ultra can occasionally be found at a $50 discount, but the best you’ll do right now is save $19 in select colors at Amazon. Meanwhile, it’s getting harder to find the previous Series 7 models in stock, with used models outnumbering new ones. You can, however, find a refurbished Series 7 at Amazon for as low as $240.
Best Apple Watch deals
After weeks of low stock and slight discounts, bigger price breaks have returned for the Apple Watch Series 8. You can save up to $90 on both the 41mm model and 45mm model in select colors at Amazon and Best Buy right now. The smaller models are as low as $310, and the larger models are at $359. Aside from the deep Prime Day discounts on offer earlier this summer, these are at or very near the lowest prices we’ve seen for either model.

Apple’s affordable Watch SE is now more affordable. When not on sale, the 2nd generation 40mm model starts at $249 and the 44mm model starts at $279 — each is $30 less than the equivalent 2020 model. With the new S8 processor, the updated Watch SE will run 20% faster than the previous SE, according to Apple. The new SE also gets the temperature sensor and car-crash detection features as the Series 8. Both the 40mm and 44mm models are $30 off at Amazon and Best Buy at the moment — we’ve not seen either sell for less.

The Apple Watch Ultra is the biggest, priciest Apple Watch to date (aside from the precious-metal Edition models). It features a 49mm titanium case, a sapphire flat front crystal and a brighter display (2,000 nits). There’s a new dedicated second button, an improved speaker and a bigger battery. Apple promises the Ultra will run for 36 hours of full-power use, ramping up to 60-plus hours in reduced-function low power mode. Cellular is also the only model it comes in.
Discounts are usually hard to find for the high-end Ultra and only offer slight savings. We don’t see many price breaks for the Watch Ultra other than saving a mere $19 on it with the orange band at Amazon.

The Series 7 is getting harder and harder to find in stock. Amazon has only used models for sale, but you can get a refurbished Series 7 for as low as $230, which is quite a lot less than the lowest-cost Series 8 at Amazon right now. It’s also $169 less than what you’d pay for a Series 8 at Apple. While the Series 7 lacks the temperature sensor of the new Series 8, it does have a number of useful health features, including blood-oxygen saturation measurements and the ability to take electrocardiogram measurements. It also features an always-on display.
